Bust Expanding Anchor

Bust expanding anchors are uniquely designed for installation in augured holes. They consist of a formed anchor with a base and wings, and a retainer is included to hold the nut of the forged eye rod, which is often sold separately.

During the installation process, a hole is augured parallel to the guy angle, sized according to the length of the rod. The rod is attached to the expanding anchor and lowered into the hole. To secure the anchor into the soil, an expanding and tamping tool is used to strike the top of the anchor, causing the blades to open up. Once the anchor is in position, the hole is backfilled and tamped.

To minimize handle vibration, a curved head (expander and tamper) is used to evenly distribute the weight of the bar around the anchor rod. The bar hook wraps around the bust anchor rod, preventing the expanding head from detaching from the anchor top plate.
