The secondary clevis is a type of spool insulator bracket that is punched from flat steel and features a clevis pin for stringing the spool insulator. It is commonly used on low voltage dead end or corner pole lines or overhead lines and is also referred to as a dead-end clevis or D iron D bracket.
The secondary clevis is essential for connecting the spool insulator to the pole, providing support and insulation for conductors. There are various designs available for the secondary clevis structure, with the simplest being the D iron, which features a 16mm diameter through-bolt for fixing to the pole and a 16mm diameter insulator bolt. Another type of secondary clevis is the slotted steel with a mounting hole, which allows for installation without removing insulators.
